The Skokie Lagoons were once a marsh by the Potawatomi name of Chewbab Skokie, before it was drained by European settlers, then reconstructed into a series of lagoons by the Civilian Conservation Corps in 1933. "Hyperspace" explores these chapters of the landscape spanning across the once-marsh, drained swamp, and the current network of lagoons, with the idea that one can travel freely on the water to view the landscape's memories and injuries.
